I’m A Celebrity camp battered by huge rainstorms, hail and thunder overnight

I’M A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has already been hit by its first wild rain storm – and former campmate John Barrowman captured it on camera.

This year’s contestants were only seen entering the jungle on Sunday yet they have been subjected to a torrential downpour, hail, thunder and lightening.

John was in Australia to appear on spin-off show Extra CampCredit: ITV

Taking to Instagram, John – who appeared live from Australia on Sunday night in spin-off show Extra Camp – filmed the raging storm from his hotel balcony.

Sharing the footage on Instagram, he said: “It’s a huge storm. @imacelebrity Not so #fabulous for #campmates jb.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is set in a national park in Murwillumbah and the area was battered by hail storms.

According to local weather reports, some areas in south Brisbane saw hail stones as big as cricket balls take out power lines.

Sadly, the lashing rain has done little to dampen the deadly bush fires currently raging in New South Wales.

One of the fires is located just 30km away from the I’m A Celeb set, meaning telly bosses are on standby in case they have to evacuate the campmates.

As a result, last week, show bosses confirmed that this year’s contestants would not have a burning camp fire for the first time in the show’s history.
