Iggy Azalea’s ex-fiancé, Nick Young, almost had a shot at love with none other than Rihanna.
The NBA basketball player revealed that he almost bagged a chance with the Umbrella singer after she watched him play at a Lakers game back in 2014, but he was had only just started dating Iggy.
Speaking on the Certified Buckets podcast, he said: ‘I had a good game, so [the reporters] asked me why… and I said, you know, Rihanna was there.’
And although Nick was lucky enough to get the 31-year-old to hit him up afterwards, he didn’t follow through, as his relationship with Iggy was ‘in the beginning stages’ by this point.
‘She hit me back, but I couldn’t go full throttle with it because I was in the beginning stages of my relationship with [Iggy],’ he continued.
‘You could’ve been King of Barbados!’ podcast host Sarunus J Jackson joked in response. ‘You could have been first man of Barbados right now!’
However, Nick later added that his relationship with Iggy ‘worked out for a little bit’ in the end.
Nick began his relationship with the Fancy hitmaker in November 2013, with the two announcing their engagement in June 2015.
However, just one year later in June 2016, Iggy announced that they had split after a video was leaked that showed Nick bragging about cheating on her.
Both have since moved on – with Iggy dating rapper Playboi Carti since late 2018, and Nick reuniting with high school sweetheart Keonna Green, who he has had an on-off relationship with since 2002.
The pair also have three children together: two sons – one born in 2012, and the other earlier this year, and a daughter who was born in 2016.
As for Rihanna – well, she has been dating the Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel since 2017, and their relationship appears to be going from strength to strength.
