Ice T and Boycie are apparently BFFs and it completely passed us by.

Reaching out to his matey on Christmas Day, John Challis (who starred as the Only Fools And Horses character) wished the rapper well on the festive holiday.

Taking to Twitter, the 77-year-old shared a picture of himself sat next to a Christmas tree while raising up a glass.

In the caption, he addressed the famous family and wrote: ‘Merry Christmas to you, Coco and Chanel.’

Naturally, the tweet caught Ice T’s attention, who shared the image with his followers, adding: ‘Merry Christmas John!’

And well, Twitter went into meltdown over their relationship, as fans questioned how the duo knew each other.

‘How the f**k does Ice T know Boycie??’ one questioned while another said: ‘Really want to know how Ice-T and John Challis know each other… this is brilliant and made my Christmas!’

Someone else said: ‘This is what I love about Twitter, Ice MF T godfather of gangster rap/hip hop and Boycie from Only Fools and Horses the greatest British TV show ever made having a conversation.

‘The world is on its knees right now politically but this makes you appreciate the little things.’

But this reaction left Ice T all confused, as he shared a number of tweets and questioned what was so strange about him knowing the actor.

‘I don’t understand WHY this confuses people though…’ he wrote.

The 61-year-old went onto retweet another post asking how they know each other, and turned up his sass levels by responding: ‘Because I live on Earth.’

He then updated his own feed, adding: ‘FYI: Regarding previous Tweets… John STARTED the Tweets by wishing Coco and Chanel Merry Christmas…’

But despite all the fuss, it turns out fans don’t want an explanation after all, and asked the duo to keep the Christmas magic alive.

‘Don’t explain, Ice. Leave us with the magic, incongruous idea you are a huge Only Fools and Horses fan,’ one teased as someone else agreed: ‘Ain’t none of my biz. But I do want to wish you & your fam a Merry Christmas. (sic)’
