I visited Ibiza’s most Instagrammable hotel and it changed everything I knew about San Antonio

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live inside an Instagram filter? Where everything has that hazy layer of perfection and the sun is always shining. Well if you’re thinking of flying to the white Isle of Ibiza this Summer, there is no where you need to stay more than San Antonio’s new boutique hotel, Wi-Ki-Woo.

Located on the iconic sunset strip of San Antonio and a short walk away from hotspots Cafe Mambo and Skinny Kitchen, Wi-Ki-Woo is instantly recognisable with it’s iconic upside down question mark and pastel chevron patterns. Whilst San Antonio has a bit of a reputation, Wi-Ki-Woo’s owner, Tony Truman, has definitely given the party town a new lease of life.

As Ibiza’s new destination hotel, Wi-Ki-Woo is everything a millennial could dream of. Opening its doors in 2018, the five-star hotel was designed by Stuart William Taylor, who gives it the perfect blend of modern luxury with an art deco vibe. With celebrity visitors such as Lottie Moss and Felicity Hayward, it is set to be the go to hotel for any aspiring influencer.

When it came to check in time, I was asked to place my finger on a scanner. Not entirely what I expected but as I wandered to my room and placed my finger on another scanner, my room door clicked open and I walked in feeling like James Bond. As someone prone to losing a room key or two, this was beyond exciting as let’s be honest, after a few drinks in the Ibizian sun, losing a key card is no joke.

Once inside, the pastel-coloured dream continues and with a rainforest shower, Cowshed products and a Smeg mini bar, you arguably would never have to leave your room. Looking out to the sea on the balcony did however change my mind, so off I went to do some serious research of the food and bar options. After sampling much of Wi-Ki-Woos’ cocktail menu I can tell you the drinks are as delicious as the art deco surroundings.

Once you’ve pulled yourself away from Wi-Ki-Woo, it’s time to see what the rest of the island has to offer. When exploring Ibiza, what is a trip to San Antonio without a visit to O Beach. The gloriously orange surroundings are nothing but iconic and if you haven’t already spotted it on Instagram this Summer, it won’t be long before you will. When they say ‘We didn’t invent the pool party, we just perfected it’, you better believe it. With more Ciroc and Tequila Rose than you could ever imagine, their day parties are the perfect way to start a night out won’t forget.

For a bit of elegance, you can book a Mustang Tour of the Island via the Wi-Ki-Woo reception. Run by married couple Caroline and Conor, they offer both tours of the Island and the chance to hire a Mustang and drive yourself around the Island. Audrey Hepburn silk scarf over your hair is recommended. After you’ve sunned yourself in your new ride, head to Skinny Kitchen for a bit of detox before the retox. Serving views and delicious food, it is definitely worth a visit.

It’s safe to say after a long weekend at Wi-Ki-Woo, I never wanted to leave. Not only did it provide a much needed hub for relaxation, but it got me in the mood to go back and do it all over again. Back in time for closing parties?
