From on stage proposals between love birds at their shows, to being the background sound to couples walking down the aisle – Matthew Lowe and Josh White’s signature style is racking up millions of streams and capturing the hearts and minds of music lovers around the world.

Josh says:

“We get lots of people wanting to propose at our shows and people sending us clips of them walking down the aisle to our music so it must just be the emotional attachment we manage to capture in our tracks and the musicality of it.”

With almost half of their UK tour already sold out, the duo hit the road last weekend kicking things off in Manchester on Friday before heading to Brighton on Saturday to a rapturous response from their audiences.

Josh says:

“We have been working really hard on the production so we can take it up a level, especially for the Printworks show in London and of course each date throughout the tour so it’s just going to be incredible. We have got some very special guests coming down to join us that we can’t speak too much about, but it’s definitely set to be the highlight of our year – just like our first tour was when we did the four week residency at London’s Phonox in 2019 which was mind-blowing!”

Matt adds:

“Yeah, last year was us testing the water, where as this year we really wanted to go the extra mile and add production value to it, and just level it up pretty much to enhance the whole experience and push everything as far as possible. Performing headline shows is really special, there’s the four of us with Tempza and Charlotte Haining, we are all good friends and work so well together too.”

Not long ago they were performing at the intimate London club, The Pickle Factory wondering if they would be able to fill it, so to now be selling out huge spaces such as London’s Printworks in under two hours is a dream come true for the duo. They join an elite band of drum and bass acts to headline Printworks including Pendulum, Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Sigma, Wilkinson and Andy C.

Josh says:

“I think it’s been around two years since we were doing our thing at the Pickle Factory which is only a one hundred and fifty capacity venue and we were absolutely bricking it, so you can’t imagine how we feel right now having sold the Printworks out! It might have been a five year plan in our dreams.”

Drum and bass continues to ride a huge wave of popularity across the underground but also in the mainstream. The sound of Hybrid Minds straddles both, due to the deep, melodic formula of their tracks but also stand out vocal performances within their music from the likes of Charlotte Haining among others.

Matt says:

“I think that’s the beauty of drum and bass in general you know, it’s so varied and there’s so much depth to it.”

Josh continues:

“If it lacks that passion coming through the music, then it’s not really achieving anything for us.”

With more new music on the horizon, including a bunch of exciting collaborations and a summer packed to the rafters with huge festival dates off the back of the Outline tour, including shows at Let It Roll, Creamfields, We Are FSTVL and Nass, if you have not had a chance to check out Hybrid Minds yet then you have plenty of opportunity this summer to do so.

Hybrid Minds Outline tour continues this weekend in Leeds and Cardiff before the duo touch down in London at Printworks next month. Grab remaining tickets for the tour HERE.
