Hugh Bonneville has revealed he’s been doing his bit amid the pandemic, volunteering as a vaccine centre marshal.
The Downton Abbey star shared a snap of himself masked up and giving a thumbs up as he received his jab.
‘Midhurst’s Riverbank Medical Centre started vaccinating last week,’ he wrote on Twitter.
‘Today Midhurst Pharmacy, led by Raj Rohilla, joined the rollout in north West Sussex. #vaccine #jabtastic.’
Posting more photos of himself in his high-visibility jacket and with the team he’s been working with, the 57-year-old added: ‘(1) With former nurse Jo Wiltshire (left), Raj and retired GPs Andrew Douglas & Madelaine Litchfield (who gave me my AstraZeneca jab).
‘(2) Delighted to be part of the support team as a volunteer marshall. I get to wear hi viz and everything.’
He’s not the only star to be celebrating getting the vaccine, with Sir Anthony Hopkins sharing a video of himself getting his jab.
After a year in quarantine, the 83-year-old dubbed it the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’.
Meanwhile, the likes of Sir David Attenborough and Dame Judi Dench have also had their doses, with the pair being thrilled.
Dame Judi, 86, told BBC News: ‘I had one a week ago. I think my next is in something like 11 weeks time. That’s a great start.’
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun of Sir David’s vaccine: ‘Sir David was always keen to get vaccinated, and support both the current programme and the NHS.
‘Of course, as well as his family and loved ones, millions of animal fans across the globe will be delighted – this is brilliant news.’
The total number of vaccinations given in the UK has neared eight million.
