Following the cancellation of BlizzCon 2020, Blizzard has announced that its annual conference is back with a fresh new online-only approach in 2021. Dubbed BlizzConline, the online event will stretch over two days in early 2021, featuring a range of competitions and undoubtedly exciting Blizzard-themed game announcements too.
Here’s all you need to know about BlizzConline 2021, including details on how you might be able to tune in – and how much it might cost.
What happened to BlizzCon 2020?
As most fans are aware at this point, Blizzard took the decision to skip BlizzCon 2020 amidst the ongoing pandemic, but it’ll be back in 2021 in a new online-only format.
When is BlizzCon 2021?
BlizzCon 2021, or BlizzConline as Blizzard is calling it, is due to take place 19-20 February 2021.
How to watch the BlizzCon 2021 live stream
Being an online-only event, it goes without saying that you’ll be able to tune into the action from home – but you’ll probably have to pay for the experience.
While not yet confirmed, BlizzCon 2019 sold virtual tickets at £34.99/$50 apiece via Battle.net, and we could see something similar this time around – especially with no in-person element. 2019’s Virtual Ticket provided access to the All-Access Channel including exclusive developer interviews, the Community Night and Closing Festivities, and a bunch of in-game loot too.
BlizzConline 2021 is still in the planning stages, but as soon as Blizzard announces details, we’ll update this section.
What can we expect from BlizzCon 2021?
BlizzConline 2021 is still very much in the early stages, as confirmed by Blizzard in a new blog post. “We still have a lot of planning to do, and it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more details” the post explained. But while specifics are yet to be confirmed, the company did list a few ways that you’ll be able to get involved from home.
One part of the virtual event is the Community Showcase, providing an opportunity for cosplay crafters, artists and the like to “put their talent on display through a mix of world-class competitions and exciting exhibitions”. There’s also a special virtual March of the Murlocs planned, with the company encouraging fans to send images and videos to join in.

Competitions and showcases aside, there’s bound to be news about the hotly-anticipated Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, both of which were initially revealed at BlizzCon 2019.
