If you’re looking for a simple way to get more Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a money tree is perfect. It’s quite straightforward to grow a money tree in Animal Crossing once you know how, so we’ll take you through the process step-by-step.
As you progress through Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll want to upgrade your house with new items and new rooms. To begin with it’ll seem like a reasonably easy task: 98,000 Bells aren’t too hard to come by if you pick up and sell lots of shells, fish, bugs and fruit. But you’ll quickly realise that Tom Nook is no fool, and before you know it he’ll be charging you hundreds of thousands of Bells (followed by millions!) for house upgrades, and you’ll be wondering how on Earth you’re going to save up.
Enter: money trees. Anyone that’s ever told you money doesn’t grow on trees clearly hasn’t played Animal Crossing.
Every day, you’ll spot a shiny, glowing spot on the floor somewhere on your Island. Use your shovel to dig in that spot and you’ll find a bag of 1,000 Bells. The key thing now is DO NOT cover this hole back up yet. It should be emitting a shiny light.
Instead, open your Pocket and select your money. It’ll let you grab some money to place in a bag that’ll be accessible from the main part of your Pocket just like other items are, and therefore it’ll become buryable. We recommend grabbing 10,000 Bells if you’ve got it. Once you’ve got your bag of 10,000 Bells, select it from your Pocket when you’re next to the hole and press ‘Bury in hole’.
You should now see a little sprout appear on the ground. If you don’t like where it is, you can use your shovel to dig it up and move it to a location of your choice. You’ll find the dug up tree in your Pocket – just select it and choose ‘Plant’ wherever you decide you’d like it to live.
That’s all there is to it! You can do this every day if you wish to, and in a few days time you’ll find that your tree is fully grown and has three bags of money on it. If you buried 10,000 Bells that’ll be 30,000 Bells in three days. Your money will continue to grow there every few days, so it’s a worthwhile investment.
