How Man Utd might line up under Solskjaer next season after THREE summer transfer raids


According to reports, the Red Devils have set their sights on bringing in three new players before the start of the 2019-20 season.

talkSPORT claim the United top brass are keen on adding two new defenders and a new midfielder to their ranks.

The defensive duo who are said to be on the club’s radar are Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

And the midfielder are said to have identified as the man to boost their options in the middle of the park is Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic.

It’s been reported that ‘the club will try and buy those three players before the start of next season in their bid to make up lost ground on rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.’

However, they’ll have to spend a combined minimum of £135million to bring them to Old Trafford.

Should United acquire the trio’s services, they’ll certainly be well placed to close the gap on City and .

United were last in action on Wednesday night, beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops currently occupy fifth place and are one point off the much-coveted final Champions League spot.

Romelu Lukaku scored in a brace in the Red Devils’ impressive win in south London.

After the match, Lukaku was full of praise for Solskjaer, who is in pole position to lead United on a full-time basis, saying: “I like him.

“He’s really open, really honest in his communication, and keeps me hungry, so whenever I get a chance to play I just want what’s best for the team and to help the team win.

“It is really helpful that he is a former player. If you look at my career I’ve always had good strikers helping me, so now I’m here with Ole I’m learning a lot, and every day is another day to learn, another day to improve and that’s how I see it.”

United will next be in action on Saturday afternoon, welcoming relegation-threatened Southampton to Old Trafford.
