She may spend most of her time entertaining the nation on our TV screens, but when she’s not on air, Holly Willoughby can be found tending to her vegetable patches.

The This Morning host, 40, delighted fans as she took to Instagram over the weekend to reveal she was busy getting green-fingered in the garden.

Lockdown last year saw Holly invest in growing her own vegetables, but she admits her efforts hadn’t been much of a success.

Hoping 2021 will reward her with plenty of home-grown goodness, Holly – watering can in hand – snapped a selfie by her newly spruced-up vegetable patches.

She told fans: ‘Well… lets try this again… not much success in 2020… keeps the snails and squirrels happy anyhow… 🐿 + 🐌 + 🌱= 💚.’

Among Holly’s haul of veggies appeared to be tomatoes, potatoes, sweetcorn and green beans.

Holly’s gardening efforts didn’t go unnoticed and she won the approval of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who commented on her post: ‘Yes.’

Her Spring theme continued as she got ready for This Morning’s show on Monday and Holly shared a pic of her looking gorgeous in a floaty floral dress.

She addressed lockdown restrictions easing slightly once again, as new rules allowing up to six people or two households to mix outdoors in public spaces and private gardens came into play.

Welcoming the changes, Holly – who was recently offered her dream cameo in Midsomer Murders – wrote: ‘Morning Monday… today we begin to unlock slowly… any slight change in the rules , bringing us slowly back to the normality of seeing loved ones feels sooooo good!

‘Enjoy your day… hope the sun is shining down on you ☀️ See you on @thismorning at 10am… #hwstyle 💁🏼‍♀️✨ dress by @rixo 💕.’

It came after Holly was seen reflecting on a year in lockdown, earlier this month.

She told fans: ‘It’s a year to the day that Prime minister Boris Johnson first put us into national lockdown.

‘Feeling rather reflective about how far we’ve come and how far we’ve got to go… Sending love to you and your families and especially thinking of you if this Year has taken away someone you love.’
