Comedian Hamish Blake has been making elaborate birthday cakes for his son Sonny since his second birthday in 2016.

So when his daughter Rudy turned three this month, it was her turn to join in on the special family tradition.

On Friday, the Lego Masters’ presenter created a moving rag doll ‘sheep’ cake for his daughter after she came up with the creative design for him to master.

‘A new chapter begins. My daughter turns 3 tomorrow. I was all set to make her a unicorn cake that pooped out glittery little turds. Then I learnt a harsh lesson in client/agency dynamics as she last minute changed the brief,’ he wrote on Instagram.

He added: ‘Tonight I will be making a far less exciting cake, but it’s the one she wants and there’s no changing her mind. As always, I have very little idea how this will go apart from knowing there will be drinking involved.’

First, Hamish created a base sponge cake which he covered with red icing as well as sprinkles.

Hamish has been wowing fans with epic cake creations for his son Sonny’s birthday each year.

In May, he created a cake inspired by the Cave Of Wonders from Aladdin, complete with a glowing mouth cave and eyes for his sixth birthday.

‘It’s that time of year again where I pledge to my son I will make whatever birthday cake his heart desires using only determination and blind optimism,’ Hamish said.

He added: ‘This year it’s a classic, the Cave Of Wonders from Aladdin, you know, the cave he goes into to get the lamp (you know). The mouth glows. The eyes glow.

‘Sonny has asked this faithfully be recreated. I have a little idea brewing involving a very powerful torch I own for when I frequently go camping, so I’m getting pumped.’

‘I’m gonna give it my best Sonny Boy,’ the Lego Masters’ host promised.

In 2019, it took Hamish six hours to make Sonny a motorised Velociraptor cake, which was built on a Lego frame.

Sonny’s brief had been for the dinosaur’s tail to hit him in the face, and of course Hamish delivered, as well placing as a large volcano cake on the side.

In 2018, Hamish created a Ghostbusters-themed green ghost slimer cake which spewed ‘ectoplasm’ in the form of bright green icing.

The comedian’s wife Zoë Foster Blake also took to Instagram at the time to share a photo of the aftermath of the slime-ing, which showed the tot covered in green goo.
