Gregory Porter will be lulling young ones to sleep as the first star to ever sing Bedtimes Stories on CBeebies.

The crooner will be performing classic ballad Moon River by Henry Mancini, made famous by Audrey Hepburn in iconic 1961 film Breakfast At Tiffany’s, on 22 November.

Chip Crawford will be joining him playing the piano as the soul performer sings.

Speaking about his upcoming hosting duties, he said: ‘It was an honour to perform a lullaby for CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

‘Moon River is one of my all-time favourites, so to be able to sing it, to inspire dreaming is pretty cool.’

Honestly? Just the thought of the song is making us all rested and chilled out – so it should be perfect for kids!

The broadcast is part of BBC Teach’s Bring The Noise campaign, to help children to discover the joys of music-making.

Gregory’s appearance is the latest in a long line of a-listers who have read books for the show, which aims to get children ready for bed with nighttime stories before they doze off.

Other stars who have taken part include Tom Hardy, Luke Evans, Orlando Bloom, Jodie Whittaker, and Simon Pegg.

Bedtime Stories airs weekdays at 6.50pm on CBeebies.
