Grandma goes on an epic rant to her ‘millennial’ daughter about how she refuses to be the ‘automatic babysitter’

A GRANDMA has received praise for telling her “millennial” daughter in an epic rant why she shouldn’t be considered the go-to babysitter for her grandchildren.

Quayla Ann filmed her mum animatedly telling her why grandparents should not be considered “automatic babysitters or daycare” so the younger generation can shirk parenting responsibilities.

In a video clip shared to YouTube, the gran from Texas is asked by an anonymous person in the background “what are grandparents supposed to do?” as the camera panned down towards two young babies lying on a bed.

Looking annoyed, the woman – who has been lauded online for “speaking the truth” and “keeping it 100%” – replied: “Let me tell you, the new generation, y’all millennial, you got it all f***** up.

“Because I became a grandparent does not automatically make me the babysitter or a daycare.

“Grandparents – true grandparents – they’re supposed to raise their children right to where y’all start having kids, you can… provide for your own children and secure their daycare so you can go to work, so you can go out, so you can do anything else.

“True grandparents are supposed to be able to call their grandkids, y’all supposed to come over and visit.”

The gran was then asked if grandparents should be happy to babysit over the school summer holidays while their mums are at work.

Not missing a beat, she shot back: “That’s where they go for the daddies.

“They go with their daddies for the summer as y’all got split custody. See that’s how y’all got it f***** up.”

The woman explained that grandparents should be able to come and stay with their son or daughter to spend time with their grandkids.

She said: “Grandparents are supposed to be able to come to your house and stay with you and spend time with their grandkids.

“You are suppose to drop your kids off when the grandparents call for them and in their leisure time. Grandparents are not supposed to be daycares.

“Everybody’s time is valuable. We have our own life. We worked very hard to get everybody out of the house. Why would we want to raise your kids and keep your kids?”

The gran added: “We are supposed to be gardening, going to the senior citizens place, bingo, and all that other f****** s***. What do you think we raised y’all for, to take care of y’all kids.”

Concluding her argument, she said: “You see what it is, y’all think we should do that as you got a sense of entitlement. You all think just because I’m the grandma that you’re supposed to push your kids off on me. But that’s not how it goes.”

The clip has been viewed more than 747,000 times online, with many people thanking her for her honesty.

One person wrote: “Damn right grandma! You wanna have kids, you ought to raise them yourself!

“Don’t throw responsibilities back at the grandparents; they have had their share of ‘raising kids’.”

Another commented: “A wise mother schools her millennial daughter on being a responsible adult and parent.

“I hope her daughter understands the wisdom of her mother’s words sooner rather than later.”
