Graeme Souness has laid into Willian for his role in Everton’s first goal against Arsenal on Saturday night.
The Toffees went second thanks to a 2-1 win over the Gunners, whose own woes continue.
Mikel Arteta’s side have now lost seven of their last 10 games with pressure mounting on the Spaniard.
But he is not being helped by his players with Willian highlighted for his lack of work rate when tracking back.
Everton scored from a cross, which was put into his own net by Rob Holding.
But Alex Iwobi was allowed time and space to send a ball into the box with Souness holding the Brazilian responsible.

“I want to highlight Willian here. You’re looking to stop it,” he said.
“It comes into Tom Davies, who ends up finding Alex Iwobi. Sprint back please, sprint back! You’ve got a job to do defensively, Willian!
“Try and stop the cross, Willian, but he goes: Oh, I’ll just jog towards him!'”
Yerry Mina headed home Everton’s winner in the first-half after Nicolas Pepe has equalised from the spot.
It means Arsenal have now conceded goals in their last five outings as sit just four points above the relegation zone.

The Gunners have also struggled at the other end to score goals, but Souness insists their defensive frailties can be fixed by simply working harder.
“When you’re defending, every player should be defending with their lives,” he added.
“This tells you that Arsenal are in trouble defensively and will continue to be in trouble defensively because the second goal highlights it again.
“It’s so avoidable. Top teams don’t concede goals like that.”
Arsenal have endured their worst start to a season for almost half a century but Arteta maintains the players still have belief.
