Got burnt over the weekend? Charlotte Tilbury is launching a beautifying SPF for summer, and we promise your skin will love it

There are a lot of red noses and peeling shoulders happening in the UK today. Of course the sun finally showing up made a bunch of us lose our sh*t and baste in the garden until we went raw. Major regrets.

Generally though, we’re very well versed in applying sun cream and we’re much more aware than previous generations of knowing the risks and acting accordingly. We’re more discerning, too. However, given how greasy, heavy and bleurghh SPFs can be, it takes a lot to get excited about them.

Charlotte Tilbury might have hit the nail on the head with her latest innovation because as the woman herself says: “SPF each day keeps the wrinkles away.”

“Every dermatologist will tell you that the sun is the most damaging external stressor for your skin,” she told GLAMOUR. Too much exposure can cause photo-ageing, moisture-loss, a breakdown of elasticity, premature wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation. “That’s why, no matter your age, skin type or skin tone, if you aren’t wearing sun protection daily, your magical layers of serums, creams and hydration are going to waste,” she says. Hence the release of her next-gen Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer SPF 50 PA++++ (£39).

The good news is alongside being clinically proven to shield skin from broad spectrum UVA and UVB rays, it’s enhanced with a soft-focus glow filter that blurs and smooths pores creating a cracking base for makeup. The peach-tinted formula has been tested across skin tones to ensure it blends away to nothing but fresh-looking skin.

It’s nice and lightweight and feels more like a primer than a heavy facial SPF. Plus it’s infused with skincare ingredients including Collalift, a breakthrough active that boosts elasticity, hyaluronic acid to keep skin hydrated and Charlotte’s Magic 8 blend of oils and actives including peptides, camellia oil and aloe vera to nourish.

The bad news is it’s not out until 24th June so you’ll have to stick to your current squeeze a little longer until it lands later this month. *Adds to calendar*
