Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh has spoken out about her “nasty” health battle in recent days. The ITV presenter shared an update on social media after being struck down by what she believes to be norovirus.
Taking to Instagram, the Lorraine stand-in presenter opened up about her health in view of her 128,000 followers. On her story, she shared a picture of herself digging into a pot of warming vegetables, as recommended by hormone nutritionist Hannah Alderson.
She captioned the snap: “Just coming out of a nasty norovirus type few days… So gone for lots of ginger, garlic, turmeric, lentils, red onion, beetroot kimchi and spinach to help get me back on track.”
Ranvir also shared nutritionist Hannah’s kind response, which read: “@ranvirtv loving the [rainbow emoji] and get well soon.”
The journalist’s post comes as outbreaks of Norovirus are closing hospital wards across the UK. Cases of the illness were 40 per cent higher than average for this time of winter in the first two weeks of January.
The virus has been sweeping through care homes and hospitals across Britain, causing issues for some of the country’s most vulnerable people.
She told The Telegraph: “I’m a stone and a half overweight – it’s my hangover from constantly eating when tired.
“It’s not just new year when I decide to overhaul my diet and fitness regime – it’s every Sunday night!
“I head to the local gym Her Fitness for an hour’s spin class. I wish I hadn’t given up dancing after Strictly [in 2020], but it just didn’t fit into my day-to-day world.”
In 2020, Ranvir took part in the eighteenth series of Strictly alongside professional dancer Giovanni Pernice.
The pair reached the semi-final, placing fifth overall, before Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse went on to win the competition.
Ranvir is best known for appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, which airs weekdays from 6am.
