Glastonbury 2022 line-up: Headliners, confirmed acts, rumours, festival dates and if you can still get tickets

Glastonbury Festival will finally return next year, after two years of Covid cancellations.

Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift had been set to headline the 2020 festival for what would have been its 50th anniversary, before the pandemic brought those plans to a halt.

Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis also made the decision to cancel the 2021 event due to continued uncertainty over cases and restrictions.

Here is what we know about Glastonbury 2022.

When is Glastonbury 2022?

The 2022 festival will open on 22 June, with campers leaving on Monday 27 June.

The three main days of music are the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when there will be a headliner each night, along with the traditional Sunday afternoon legends slot.

Who is confirmed for the line-up?

Billie Eilish has been confirmed as the first headline act. The 20-year-old will become Glastonbury’s youngest ever solo headliner when she takes to the Pyramid Stage on Friday night.

She is also the first woman to headline the festival since 2016.

Eilish revealed the news by posting a picture of herself in a Glastonbury hoodie on Instagram, captioned “2022”.

Emily Eavis confirmed in a tweet, saying: “This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!”

Eilish performed at the last Glastonbury to go ahead in 2019. Her Other Stage set went down a storm in front of around 40,000 people.

She released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, earlier this year.

Eilish is currently the only fully confirmed act for Glastonbury 2022. However, Aerosmith and Crowded House have both self-confirmed.

Who is rumoured to perform?

Lamar, McCartney and Swift could all be in with a shot at headlining after missing out two years ago. Diana Ross, who was slated to play the legends slot in 2020, is expected by many to fill it this time around.

Elton John is hotly tipped for a headline slot. He has never played Glastonbury before and fans have noticed a suspicious gap in his farewell tour schedule that just happens to coincide with a certain festival at Worthy Farm.

Noel Gallagher has said he will play the festival if asked. His brother Liam was on the schedule in 2019.

Others strongly rumoured for slots include Fatboy Slim, McFly, Pet Shop Boys, Wolf Alice and Tribes.

Can I still get tickets?

Glastonbury 2022 is currently sold out, as those who bought tickets for 2020 have been allowed to roll their deposits over.

Balance payments on existing deposit bookings are payable in the first week of March 2022. The final price for the festival will be confirmed either late this year or early next year.

After this there may be a resale depending on whether enough people turn down the chance to purchase their ticket.
