The process to register your interest for tickets to 2020’s Glastonbury festival closes today (30 September), with hopeful attendees having only hours left to sign up.

The festival, which will run between 24 and 28 June, celebrates its 50 anniversary in 2020, and so demand is expected to be even higher than usual.

Tickets for the world-famous event often sell out extremely quickly, even with none of the lineup’s acts announced.

The process of registering for Glastonbury tickets is one that’s been in place for a number of years now, as organisers continue to crack down on touts and secondary market sellers.

How do I register for Glastonbury 2020 tickets?

Registering your name does not guarantee that you will get tickets when they become available, but you need to be registered if you wish to purchase them at a later date.

To do so, simply fill out this online form; if you have registered for tickets in previous years, you will have quicker access to do so again this year.

If you’re looking to buy tickets for friends or family, they too will have to be registered first: “you will need their registration numbers and corresponding postcodes in order to purchase tickets on their behalf,” says the official website.

That’s because all tickets are personalised to the named ticket holder, which means they are non-transferable.

Registration closes at 5pm on Monday 30 September 2019, and there is a six ticket limit per transaction.

When do tickets actually go on sale?

Once you have registered, you won’t have long to wait, with tickets for the festival going on sale days after registration closes.

Coach and ticket packages go on sale first from Thursday 3 October at 6pm, and those who book travel packages ahead of general release tickets will gain priority access to accommodation tickets later in October.

General admission tickets go on sale from 9am on Sunday 6 October.

Ticket add ons – like Worthy View accommodation and Campervan passes – will be available to book later in the month.

How much do tickets cost?

General admission tickets cost £265 for the weekend, and are subject to a £5 booking fee per ticket.

Each ticket purchased required £50 deposit – payable when booking – with the balance required in the first week of April 2020.
