They say that things get better with age, and so it should come as no surprise that sex is included in this.
According to a new study, a third of those over the age of 50 (baby boomers) are currently enjoying the most adventurous sex of their lives.
Research conducted by dating app Lumen, found that 62 percent of over 50s claimed they now had less inhibitions in the bedroom, leading them to become more daring and wanting to try new positions and partners.

The survey of more than 6,000 people was part of a campaign to challenge everyday ageism and end the misconceptions of the over 50s. It’s thought to be the UK’s first in-depth study into the age group’s sex lives.
As well as having more confidence, nearly 30 percent of participants admitted that an increase in their ‘down time’ had also contributed to them experimenting more with sex.
A further 10 percent simply attributed the adventurousness to having a higher libido.
However, while they were certainly feeling sexier with age, many respondents didn’t seem to have made the smartest of choices – with over half admitting to never using any type of protection and 80 percent of those questioned never having been checked for STDs.

On average the study found that over 50s have had three sexual partners, with just four percent claiming to have had 10 or more partners since turning the big five-o.
Antoine Argouges, co-founder and CEO of Lumen, said: “Of course the over 50s are having more adventurous sex, they’re more comfortable in their own skin and know what they want. It’s something that should be celebrated, not recoiled from.
“Our app is all about anti-ageism, body confidence and helping to create meaningful and genuine connections. But we also want to encourage healthy and safe relationships, which is why we’ll be partnering with sexual health educators and brands to help tackle the rise of STDs in the over 50s.
“We know this is a serious issue, and as a dating app specifically for that audience, we know we have an opportunity to bring this to their attention.”
