Game Of Thrones season 8: Night King’s White Walker dragon killed by THIS character?

Bronn (played by Jerome Flynn) has already become less-liked this season after the Game of Thrones season eight premiere revealed the sellsword had been tasked with a dastardly mission.

Following an order from Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Bronn will have to murder his close friend Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and the kingslayer’s brother Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) if he hopes to keep his own head.

The comedic character has always been self-serving on the HBO fantasy hit, so it may not come as too much of a surprise.

But what will stun fans is if the relatively weak Bronn ends up being the one to take down Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) dragon Viserion – whom now belongs to the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) after he turned the creature into ice.

According to a new fan theory, that’s exactly what he will end up doing, and it all comes down to his past experience in fighting the mystical creatures.

Bronn came up against Daenerys’ beloved babies before, in particular the character tried to kill Drogon during the Siege of Casterly Rock in season seven.

Born used a crossbow called the Scorpion, and narrowly avoided the mother of dragons and her steed as they flew across the skies.

The dragons are a beloved asset in the world of Westeros, and viewers would possibly never forgive Bronn for murdering one of them.

But if it comes between stopping the Night King and saving the life of Daenerys or Jon Snow (Kit Harington), maybe Bronn will be the best bet?

Sharing their theory on Reddit, one fan shared their thoughts on a potential twist in the story.

“The Scorpion could get its victim finally,” they said. “And how sweet it will be if this time we see the undead dragon falling from the sky, pierced by Bronn.

“Men will probably build ammo from dragon glass and slay white walkers with it.

“It will be a nice twist if a giant arrow made of dragon glass kills the beast, similar to the ice spears of the Night King,” the fan added.

Others speculated instead the dragons will end up at odds, turning against each other in a violent and spectacular story twist.

One person guessed: “It’s interesting but still seems more likely to me that history will repeat itself and Drogon will slay Viserion.”

“I think that would make for a much more cinematic fight scene as two dragons duke it out over a chaotic battlefield.”

Another option is that Daenerys will manage to save Viserion from the Night King, putting her firmly as the strongest character in the show once more.

Perhaps Jon will combine his own power as King of the North and as a Targaryen heir with his new lover’s, the pair becoming unstoppable against the Night King?

Game of Thrones season eight continues Sundays on HBO and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
