A twist ending to Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones left fans reeling.
Maisie Williams‘ character, Arya Stark, killed the Night King in a fiery move that shocked viewers.
After years of training for battle, the warrior took down the supreme leader and the first of the dreaded White Walkers in the Battle of Winterfell.
Fans of the hit fantasy series were overjoyed at the news, which resulted in the hashtag Arya Stark trending for over a day.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 22-year-old actress opened up about the jaw-dropping scene.
Unfortunately, one particular comment she made hit a sore point with viewers.
Speaking about her boyfriend’s reaction to the news that she would slay the Night King, she revealed that he said Jon Snow deserved it more.
She said: “And then I told my boyfriend and he was like, ‘Mmm, should be Jon though really, shouldn’t it?’”

Outraged GoT fans took to Twitter to vent about the statement, hinting that her boyfriend “didn’t deserve” her.
One said: “Imagine being Maisie Williams and getting this incredible news about your character and everything that it’s built up to, and this is how your boyfriend reacts…”
And a second agreed: “Maisie Williams should do what she wants but she should strongly consider dumping her boyfriend.”
While a third chipped in: “He doesn’t deserve you!”
Maisie was previously dating former classmate Ollie Jackson, which she spoke openly about in an interview with Elle magazine last year.
