Gail Porter took time out of her festive celebrations to remember her ex-boyfriend, Keith Flint.

The 48-year-old dated The Prodigy frontman for a year before they called time on their relationship back in 2000.

However, following the singer’s tragic death just eight months ago, the television personality paid tribute to her former beau on Boxing Day.

Sharing a picture of the icon on Instagram, she wrote: ‘Honoured to spend a long time with this beautiful human being.’

The star then turned her attention to his loved ones, adding: ‘Thinking of his friends and family at this time. RIP.’

Fans were quick to comment, and flooded the model with love and support.

‘You were so lucky to have known him on a personal level Gail. Such a lovely beautiful handsome man,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Still shocked by his death Gail.’

Someone else said: ‘So lucky to have known this gem. I was lucky enough to see them on tour last year before he passed. Hope his friends and family are doing okay. RIP. Hope you are well Gail.’

The Firestarter hitmaker was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to his Essex home, on 4 March this year.

At the time, Gail took to Twitter where she revealed her heartbreak following the sad news.

Back in 2008, she said of her relationship with Keith: ‘He was lovely and gentle and oh I still am so fond of him.’

In that same interview with the Guardian, it was claimed the mother-of-one dumped him because he ‘wasn’t dangerous enough’ and ‘threw her clothes into bin bags and snuck away’ from his house without saying goodbye.

A week after Keith’s passing, an inquest found that the star had died by hanging.

Coroner’s officer Lynsey Chaffe told the court: ‘Police attended, all protocols were followed and his death was confirmed as not suspicious.’

The music industry was left devastated by the loss of Keith, with his Prodigy bandmates calling him a ‘true pioneer, innovator and legend.’

People have since shared their stories about what a nice person he was, with James Blunt’s story particularly tugging at heartstrings.

It is believed that in the two years before his death, Flint was in a relationship with Faye Kelbie, with sources claiming the star split from wife Mayumi Kai three years ago.
