Teenager Gabriel Martinelli has been included in Arsenal’s 29-man squad for their pre-season tour of America but there is no place for disgraced club captain Laurent Koscielny or AC Milan transfer target Krystian Bielik.

The Brazilian forward completed his transfer to the north London club last week and remains the only new signing made by Unai Emery this summer.

Bielik, meanwhile, impressed on loan at Charlton last season but is almost certain to be sold despite his versatility. The 21-year-old is equally comfortable in central defence or midfield but has reportedly emerged as a target for AC Milan.

Koscielny, meanwhile, has refused to travel as he attempts to engineer a move back to France, a decision which prompted an unprecedented statement from Arsenal earlier on Thursday.

It read: ‘Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour.

‘We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.

‘We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time.’

Arsenal face MLS side Colardo Rapids next Tuesday before glamour friendlies against Fiorentina, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The Gunners complete their pre-season programme with the return of Emirates Cup, ahead of matches against Angers and Barcelona.
