Football Manager 2020 goes free for fans amid ongoing coronavirus crisis


It isn’t even a week since the last top level football match in the UK, but it already feels like it was a lifetime ago.

Fans around the country and beyond are all too aware of football’s lack of importance during these testing times, but that isn’t stopping them from missing the game they love.

Thankfully Football Manager have now stepped in to try and heal those wounds.

We’ve all got a story of how we led Wrexham up through the divisions to Premier League glory, or took Plymouth Argyle to three successive Champions League finals (and you totally weren’t cheating when you won that third one), and this seems like it could be the perfect time to create some new tales.

The game is free for the next week

The team behind the ever-popular management simulation game are offering Football Manager 2020 to fans for free for the next week, helping supporters fill those hours which they would have spent watching their teams up and down the country or in front of the television.

The game is free to download from Steam to PC and Mac between 3pm on Wednesday, March 18 until 3pm on Wednesday, March 25.

If you have a Steam account then just log in and you’ll see the option to download immediately, while if you don’t have an account then you can create one at www.steampowered.com, just click on ‘Install Steam’ and then follow the instructions.

After a week you’ll then need to purchase the game if you want to keep playing.
