Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has included Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, and Nemanja Matic in his provisional squad for Manchester United’s clash with Watford.

All five players withdrew from international duty making them doubts for this weekend’s match at Old Trafford, but Solskjaer is hopeful they will all be available to face Javi Gracia’s side.

Rashford played no part in England’s Euro 2020 qualifiers with Czech Republic and Montenegro after picking up an ankle injury, while Shaw pulled out of Gareth Southgate’s squad following a knock.

Martial has been suffering with a knee problem but the United forward joined Rashford, Shaw and the rest of his team-mates at The Lowry Hotel on Friday night. Matic was also present despite missing Serbia’s recent games with a knock.

Lukaku’s foot problem has been perhaps the most concerning injury for United and the Belgium international is still a major doubt for Saturday’s encounter with Watford.

However, the former Everton striker was spotted at United’s Carrington training base on Friday and has been included in Solskjaer’s provisional squad.

Lukaku has been receiving treatment to his foot in Belgium as he desperately tries to return to full fitness for United’s Champions League quarter-final with Barcelona.

Solskjaer confirmed that Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia will miss United’s match with Watford.

‘We’ve had a very good training week,’ Solskjaer, who was appointed full-time manager on Thursday.

‘Some have been away and have come back okay. Alexis has just come back and there is only him who is out, along with Matteo and Antonio. Those three are out.

‘We’ll have to check on one or two of the others.’
