First Love Island 2019 contestant ‘confirmed’ as Geordie beauty Amber Rose Gill

The hit ITV dating series has produced some of the nation’s favourite reality TV stars over the past few years.

Now, it appears that the first official contestant for Love Island 2019 has been confirmed.

Beauty therapist Amber Rose Gill has reportedly been signed to appear in season five, entering the villa in a bid to find love.

According to The Sun, the 21-year-old was flown to Majorca this weekend by ITV bosses in order to get prepped for filming.

Their source said: “Amber is a down to earth and fun-loving girl.

Before adding: “She loves to party and is always out in Newcastle.

“She’s beautiful and looks incredible in a bikini and unlike other previous stars of the show doesn’t have masses of Instagram followers.”

The Newcastle-born beauty regularly shares stunning selfies and outfit shots to her personal Instagram account.

The show has received criticism in the past over its casting, with unhappy viewers taking to social media to slam the choice of contestants.

Many felt that the show featured a lack of diversity, with fans calling for a wider scope of body shapes and ethnicities before the camera.

Love Island airs on Monday June 3rd on ITV2 at 9pm.
