Could ‘sassy’ party girl Amber Rose Gill be the first-known face of Love Island 2019?

The 21-year-old beautician is reportedly the first ‘confirmed’ contestant of the new series after the ‘fun-loving’ Newcastle party girl was flown out to Majorca this weekend for the show.

It’s just one week (one week, people) until the start of our long, hot summer with ITV2 and so far very little has been given away about the line-up.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Amber is a down to earth and fun-loving girl. She loves to party and is always out in Newcastle.

‘She’s beautiful and looks incredible in a bikini and unlike other previous stars of the show doesn’t have masses of Instagram followers.’

Amber Rose, who has modeled for Newcastle fashion brand Fash 1, is 5ft4in and a dress size 8, but also clearly confident about posing in a bikini on her Instagram page.

Though at the time of publishing, her public page had amassed just under 6,000 followers, which is a fraction of the millions that last year’s contestants Laura Anderson and Megan Barton-Hanson now boast.

It follows reports that ‘dozens’ of ‘gutted’ Love Island hopefuls were cut from the official 2019 line-up on Sunday amidst surprise drugs testing.

It is alleged that show bosses sprung the tests on hopefuls ahead of picking the final line-up and many were instantly dropped after being found with cocaine, ketamine and cannabis in their systems.

It’s reportedly the first time drug testing has taken place ahead of the show airing.

‘They weren’t warned, so it came as a surprise,’ an insider told The Star on Sunday.

‘That’s the only way to do it, if people are told way in advance, they can take steps to avoid getting caught.’

As far as what to expect from the forthcoming line-up, we’re expecting to see more body diversity after a frenzied viewers took to social media in 2018 worrying about their bodies.

ITV told Metro.co.uk that they ‘endeavour to have a diverse range of contestants appearing on the programme’ and that ‘the only stipulations are that applicants are over 18, single and looking for love’.

Rumoured contestants have already included 30-year-old plus-size model Jada Sezer.

Jada is a mental health campaigner who regularly speaks out for body positivity, and was the first plus-size model to walk at London Fashion Week.

Another alleged Love Island 2019 cast member who’s been all but officially confirmed is boxing champion Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy.

Fury recently revealed in an interview with ESPN that his 19-year-old brother was about to enter the villa on the hunt for love this summer.

It’s also understood that Tommy dumped his childhood sweetheart, Millie Roberts, after two years, just so he could be elligible for the competition.

And fellow siblings of the famous expected to take part include Soph Piper, the little sister of Rochelle Humes, and Curtis Pritchard, whose big brother AJ is in Strictly Come Dancing.
