FIFA 20 Demo: What we want to see in the preview of the game

We’ve already seen new features such as new player conversation, more in-depth manager customisation and revamped press conferences revealed, but we’re going to be able to get our hands on the game next month.

With demos, you’re normally only allowed to manage a few games into a Career Mode, but with the new and more interactive press conferences, we’ll have the opportunity to speak to the media after taking over at our chosen club, if not a little more. It’ll be great to test the waters and see the reaction of the fans and players to specific answers you give.

It’ll also be good to see exactly how much customisation options are available for your manager in Career Mode, as from the screenshot below, it appears to be a lot.

Headwear is just the tip of the iceberg for manager customisationThere are also aspects such as more backgrounds and settings when liaising with a player and his agent, which would be nice to see on our screens.

FUT New Modes

FIFA Ultimate Team is set for its biggest revamp in years, as new game modes including King of the Hill and Mystery Ball have been added for FIFA 20. It’d be great to have these modes available for us to try in the demo, as well as friendlies.

We don’t have a lot of info on what exactly we’ll be able to set as our “House rules” in friendlies, but that will all change soon. EA will let us get our hands on some of these modes, if not all of them for the demo.

Who can’t wait for FUT Friendlies? We’re most looking forward to playing Mystery Ball, it’ll be a great tactical battle to see who comes out on top, and it won’t always be the best player.

Here’s what EA have to say on the new modes; “Mystery Ball gives the attacking side boosts to their Passing, Shooting, Dribbling, Speed, or All attributes, adding an element of unpredictability to every match. Meanwhile, in King of the Hill, players fight for possession in a randomly generated zone on the pitch to boost the amount your next goal is worth.”

Honourable mention: Euro 2020

This is a longshot, but it’ll probably get a mention, at the very least. The 2020 European Championships take place in summer next year and qualifying for the major international tournaments has already begun.

Long gone are the days where the World Cup and Euros had their own game, we haven’t seen that since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Instead, DLC’s have been created towards the end of the FIFA games’ life cycle to add interest before the following year’s game is released.

The Euros were last seen on FIFA in 2012We’d like to see Euro 2020 qualification fixtures added into kick-off mode, even if some of the national teams are unlicenced. After PES have made huge strides ahead of their 2020 release, EA have to pull out all the stops to prevent them losing their stranglehold on the football gaming scene and this would be a relatively simple one to include.

With the UEFA licenses acquired last year for the Champions League and Europa League last season, we can expect this be extended for Euro 2020.
