Explore London as anybody in Watch Dogs: Legion, coming March 2020

Possibly one of the most ambitious games announced at Ubisoft’s E3 2019 showcase is the upcoming hacking title, Watch Dogs: Legion. The third title in the Watch Dogs series lets players explore near-future London in a “post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes”, according to game director Clint Hocking.

As explained in the reveal trailer, Watch Dogs: Legion allows you to play as any character in the vast open world with the aim of building up a resistance to rise up and retake London from the grip of tyranny.

What’s truly impressive is that Ubisoft claims each character is unique, with its own animations, voiceovers and traits, all having an effect on how you experience the game. The trailer teases a couple of characters, from an ex-MI5 agent to a granny assassin, showing the true scale of what Legion looks to offer.

Of course, Watch Dogs is all about the tech, and that’s true of Legion. London is the perfect setting for a game like this, with a vast CCTV network that players can utilise to track people of interest and remotely activate devastating hacks. The addition of killer drones and other dangerous tech can’t hurt either, right?

Along with the announcement trailer (seen at the top of this article), Ubisoft released a gameplay trailer, giving fans an idea of what to expect from the hacking sensation when it’s released next year. It’s lengthy at just over 11 minutes, so get comfortable and prepare to be impressed.

As mentioned in the trailer, Watch Dogs: Legion is set to be released on 6 March 2020, and will be available not only for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but Google’s upcoming streaming service Google Stadia, too.
