Exclusive: 90 MINUTES trailer – first look at Rio Ferdinand's new comedy film

A new movie – 90 MINUTES – executive produced by Rio Ferdinand is set for release in March.

Mirror Online has the exclusive first look at the film, which will be released in cinemas on March 19, and DVD from April.

90 MINUTES , exec-produced by footballing legend Rio Ferdinand is a nostalgic British comedy-drama that takes place entirely on one morning on the famous playing fields of London’s Hackney Marshes.

The trailer shows the team three weeks away from their big game, telling us “there’s all to play for on and off the pitch”.

The movie is pitched (see what we did there?) as “A film about football, that’s not about the football….:

For Londoners the locations will look familiar, the movie was shot on Hackney Marshes in London.

The film stars Robert Ristic as Jack, Peyvand Sadeghian as Naima and Leon Sua as Dave. Rio Ferdinand also crops up as himself…exercising his acting chops.

Of course, Ferdinand is no stranger to the screen, having starred in Dead Man Running (2009) as well as executive producing the movie.

He was also seen in his frank documentary Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad in 2017.

Ferdinand announced his retirement from professional football on 30 May 2015.

90 MINUTES will be released in selected London cinemas and on main digital platforms and DVD on April 1, courtesy of KALEIDOSCOPE ENTERTAINMENT.

90 Minutes is in cinemas on March 19 and available on DVD & digital download from April 1.
