Every single one of Meghan Markle’s stylish maternity looks

It’s been revealed that Meghan Markle is taking a break from public engagements in the run up to the birth of her first child.

The Duchess of Sussex’s diary has been cleared of all official appearances, though Palace aides have said that she’ll continue to work privately behind the scenes.

Over the last few months the 37-year-old’s maternity wardrobe has been varied and unexpected. While her pre-maternity wardrobe focussed on designs by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, the designer behind her wedding dress, Meghan’s maternity style has seen her include a variety of high end labels into her wardrobe repertoire, from Victoria Beckham, Erdem, Carolina Herrera, Dior and Valentino.

She has also continued to shine a spotlight on a plethora of independent designers, mostly whilst abroad in order to pay homage to the countries the royal has visited. The couple has completed tours to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Fiji and Morocco during the pregnancy.

Getting into the swing of royal life, the majority of Meghan’s sartorial hits have been noteworthy ballgowns. She attended her first state dinner in a blue caped gown by London-based brand Safiyaa, opted for an ethereal tulle number by Oscar de la Renta for the Australian National Geographic Gala, and it was a stand-out glitzy sequin Roland Mouret number for a visit to the Cirque du Soleil premiere. But the best black tie look of all has to be the dreamy custom Dior gown she wore recently during her and Prince Harry’s tour to Morocco.

Taking a more casual approach than her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, throughout her pregnancy Meghan has often favoured black skinny jeans and a blazer as her go-to get-up. And, in the later stages of pregnancy, she also favoured affordable dresses with shorter hemlines, including a £24.99 fine-knit dress by H&M and a retro-inspired £185 shift dress from Reiss.
