FINLAND VS BELGIUM – TOMORROW, 8PM
Plucky Finland take on one of the tournament favourites Belgium in St. Petersburg tomorrow night at 8pm.
The Finns came into the tournament as huge Group B underdogs, but after a gutsy win against Denmark and a narrow defeat to Russia, their fate is in their own hands against the Red Devils.
Belgium go into their final group game with two wins, six points, and their place in the round of 16 assured, taking the pressure off Roberto Martinez and giving him license to rest some of his key players.
Finland go into the tie knowing that they’ll have to put in the performance of their lives to get the better of this fearsome Belgium team and will be hoping to escape with at least a point to ensure their place in the last 16.
Group B is still wide open and any of Russia, Finland and Denmark could still qualify, so they’ll all be fighting for their places in the last 16, which should hopefully make for a highly entertaining evening of football.
