Epic Games Expands NFL Partnership to Include Both Fortnite and Rocket League

Epic Games and the National Football League (NFL) announced an expansion of their partnership that includes Fortnite and Psyonix Studio’s Rocket League. Both games will offer NFL in-game integration beginning later this month.

Beginning Wednesday, Fortnite will feature revised “Gridiron Gang Outfits” from all 32 NFL teams. These will be made available for purchase in two styles and can be customized in a number of ways including the ability to “customize the jersey number and toggle whether they want a reflective visor on the helmet,” according to Epic.

Later this year the NFL and Epic will bring themed content to Psyonix’s rocket-powered vehicular soccer game, Rocket League. Details on content and release information are to be announced.

Epic and the NFL first partnered in 2018 to bring NFL gear into Fortnite, and while the partnership was well received by fans, both companies were challenged by the creativity of players who recreated controversial NFL players such as OJ Simpson, Aaron Hernandez, and Michel Vick. The Esports Observer discussed the top at length in the article, “Fortnite’s NFL Skins and the Challenge of In-Game Activations.”

Editor’s note: An earlier iteration of this story featured an image with an older NFL logo. The article has been updated with the proper logo.
