The 25-year-old, who is from nearby Washington, Tyne & Wear, was in attendance with a large group of pals to see the action.

Spotted in the VIP area, Pickford also had a security team with him given his connections to Newcastle’s bitter rivals Sunderland.

Pickford joined the Black Cats at the age of eight, eventually making his pro debut nine years later and going on to play 35 matches for the club before a big-money move to Goodison Park.

And while the stopper was clearly having a fun night out it was spoiled when the audience caught him on the big screen.

As soon as his face was beamed around the arena, thousands of fans started singing that Pickford is “just a sad Mackem b******”.

Pickford had earlier helped Everton pick up their first win in four matches to ease the pressure on Marco Silva.

Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson scored as the Toffees beat West Ham 2-0.

At the boxing, Pickford saw local boy Ritson beat Davies Jr in a thrilling points victory.
