Emmerdale fans raging over Laurel 'plot hole' in Arthur and Archie abuse scene

Emmerdale fans spotted a plot hole in Arthur Thomas’ abuse plot, as he terrorised poor little Archie Breckle yet again last night.

The school boy has been secretly bullying Archie behind his mum Laurel Thomas’ back, in a desperate attempt to rid Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) from his life.

Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Jai are clueless about what’s going on, with things coming to a head last night.

Jai and Archie (Kai Assi) came over to Laurel’s house to bake some mince pies, ahead of their plans to spend Christmas together.

While the lovebirds stood at the counter, Laurel asked Arthur (Alfie Clarke) to get some baking ingredients for her.

She asked: “Do you want to get the mince meat out of the cupboard?”

When Archie called out “I’ll get it”, Arthur hissed: “She asked me.”

Jai and Laurel are clueless about Arthur’s bullying streak

Though they were standing just inches away from the children, Jai and Laurel were left completely oblivious.

Jai remarked: “I am so looking forward to Christmas”

Smiling up at her new beau, Laurel replied: “I think we’ve got a way to go with Arthur but I think we made a good start.”

Arthur threatened Archie right in front of Laurel and Jai

Meanwhile, Arthur was back to tormenting little Archie, as he spat: “If you’re coming for Christmas, you do exactly what I tell you to do, or you’ll be in trouble.”

Confused viewers pointed out that Laurel and Jai would have definitely heard Arthur’s threat, seeing as they were standing right next to them.

Taking to Twitter, they slammed the plot hole, as one viewer remarked: “Surely they would have heard Arthur?”

Arthur warned Archie against disobeying him over Christmas

A second added: “How are Laurel and Jai totally oblivious to what Arthur said when they’re two feet away?”

While a third chipped in: “Like f*** they wouldn’t be able to hear that….”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
