Emmerdale fans fear entire Ellis Chapman’s entire family will be written out of the soap after the sacking of Asan N’Jie.
Mum Jessie Dingle (Sandra Marvin) has already announced her departure from the ITV show, but now fans are worried the entire family will get the chop.
Asan, who plays Ellis, was fired yesterday after taking part in a foul-mouthed brawl with Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas at Monday night’s TV Choice Awards.
ITV released a statement about his departure, explaining his “contract has been terminated with immediate effect””
Now, fans are worried actors Michael Wildman and Jay Kontzle will be written out of the show as a result of the shock firing.
Michael, who plays dad Al Chapman, and Jay, better known as Billy Fletcher, are recent additions to the Emmerdale cast.
Last month Sandra revealed she was leaving the soap, saying: “So it’s out… I’m leaving the lovely Dales.”
Before adding: “I’ve had the most amazing time on Emmerdale with some incredible people. Also, thank you to all the Emmerdale fans for your support! You really are the best!”
Taking to Twitter, Emmerdale fans started fretting over the fate of the Chapman family and speculated over whether they’d be axed.
One said: “With Jessie already leaving and now them sacking Ellis I really hope they don’t just get rid of the whole family and write billy out of the show Emmerdale.”
A second added: “I wonder if what happened at the TV awards will affect the actor that plays Ellis’s brother. With Jessie leaving too I’m wondering how they will keep him in without his family.”
While a third asked: “So is Billy gonna be staying when Jessie and now Ellis goes?”
Jamie has yet to speak out about the violent spat, but Asan released an apology to his fans yesterday afternoon.
He said: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
Before adding: “I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”
