Emma Watson Wears Alexa Chung's Label For First G7 Equality Meeting In Paris

For the first G7 Advisory Council For Gender Equality in Paris, Emma Watson opted for a statement-making green suit courtesy of Alexa Chung, whose brand name is Alexachung. Taken from the designer’s spring/summer 2019 collection, Watson paired the printed ensemble with bold yellow heels, matching eyeshadow and a Lala Léxa Perspex clutch.

The event, which took place in Élysée Palace on February 19, welcomed Watson and fellow female activists – such as Aïssata Lam and Marlene Schiappa – to meet with President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte as they discussed plans for the council’s global agenda. The group also met for an evening dinner which Mauritanian activist Aïssata Lam shared a snap of on Twitter:

Since Watson was appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July 2014, she’s put her weight behind multiple campaigns to help promote women’s rights across the globe. From donating a large sum of money to the Time’s Up initiative to voicing support for the #MeToo movement and recently writing the foreward for activist and journalist Gloria Steinem’s book, Watson has made it her mantra to use her position and privilege to help others.

Watson – who is currently filming Greta Gerwig’s remake of Little Women with Saoirse Ronan – has previously spoken about why being part of such councils and campaigns is important to her. “Part of me relaxed after I took on [the] position [of UN ambassador], it gave me a sense of belonging and purpose. Everything clicked in to place, in a way that it hadn’t before,” she told Vogue in 2015. “I understood what I’m here to do and knew where to channel all this energy that has been coming at me. I now feel this sense of peace. People say that I’m different since I did it.”
