British soap star Emma Barton is well-loved for her role as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders. While the 41-year-old actress has won the hearts of many viewers, she keeps her own love life under wraps. Emma is said to be single following her 2013 split from her ex-husband, but one of her costars has made his feelings for her very clear.
Mr Borthwick said: “I was about 14 when I first set eyes on Emma Barton.
“I fell in love with her long, shapely legs and I wanted to marry her.”
The actor said his affections for Emma led to some embarrassing moments, thanks to Billy Mitchell actor, Perry Fenwick.
He revealed: “Perry told me to chat her up, and I remember walking over to her and saying, ‘Alright darlin’…, wow, you smell nice.’
“It brought the house down and we still laugh about it now.”
Mr Borthwick says he and Emma have a “very rare and special” connection which is why he loves working with her.
Mr Borthwick: “I love working with Emma. I won’t say what it is, but we have something in common that’s very rare and very special that brings us together.
“I still try and chat her up and say that one day, we’ll get married, but she’s having none of it!”
How does Emma feel?
Emma opened up about her relationship with Jamie after the actor revealed he had the hots for her.
In a 2017 interview with the Sun she said Jamie was like “a baby brother” to her.
Emma told The Sun Emma: “Aww my Jamie, so this would have been 12 years ago.
“He used to kiss me on set and say to me, before I went in, good luck, Em, good luck, Em.”
She continued: “He’s like my baby brother, I am so protective over him it’s unreal.”
Emma will appear on a special EastEnders episode of Pointless celebrities this Saturday.
