Ellie Goulding ‘overwhelmed with gratitude’ as she thanks wedding guests

Ellie Goulding has thanked those who celebrated her wedding to Caspar Jopling with her and said she is “overwhelmed with gratitude”. 

The pop star married her art dealer beau at York Minster, in a glamorous ceremony attended by a-listers and a number of Royals. 

Sharing a picture from the ceremony on Instagram, Goulding wrote: “This weekend I married the love of my life, in God’s own country, surrounded by the people I cherish.

“Overwhelmed with gratitude.

“Thank you eternally to everyone involved in such a special time, including every single person that travelled from far and wide to come and celebrate with us at York Minster – a place that my husband and his family hold close to their hearts.”

She added: “I will never forget your support and generosity.

“We both send you all so much love and a massive hug xx.”

Crowds of fans gathered outside the ceremony on Saturday, while a number of household names were also in attendance. 

Singer Katy Perry attended with her Hollywood star boyfriend Orlando Bloom, while Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice were at the ceremony with their mother Sarah, Duchess of York and were greeted by Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank – who was one of the groomsmen.

Among the other guests were singer James Blunt, actress Sienna Miller, comic Jimmy Carr and artist Tracey Emin.
