Ellie Goulding had four wedding outfits – here’s the second

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and perhaps they’re right, for it would seem that musician Ellie Goulding took a dose of inspiration from Meghan Markle when it came to her second wedding dress, which it’s believed she wore to her reception.

An Instagram post shared by musician Serpentwithfeet, who performed at the wedding reception held at Castle Howard, has shown the second dress modelled by the bride.

Keeping her hair and make-up the same from her ceremony, the dress featured a silver embellished thigh-high split and an eerily similar boat neckline to Markle’s Givenchy-designed wedding dress.

In his Instagram post of a behind-the-scenes photo from the event, the musician wrote: “Thank you @elliegoulding for asking me to perform at your wedding! I am still in disbelief, but incredibly honoured that you would invite my melodramatic self to sing at a celebration of love.”

While it’s not known who exactly the designer of the second dress is, Ellie shared with British Vogue that “Ralph & Russo have collaborated on my favourite piece from their AW19 collection – it’s a bodice of pearls and silk, which I will be wearing with an evening skirt, before switching into a pair of classic white tailored trousers for the reception. I was excited to do something a bit different after the ceremony itself. I have a special Stella McCartney dress for when guests arrive at Castle Howard, and Balmain have also been so generous with their time. Olivier [Rousteing] has made me the most fun dress to dance the night away in. I don’t want to give too much away but each look is so unique and I can’t thank the designers and houses enough for being a part of the day.”

Her dress for the ceremony was designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi for Chloé and took more than 640 hours to construct, from the silk tulle veil, which had the couple’s initials embroidered on, to the White Roses of York hand embroidered to the bodice of the dress using white glass beads.
