Eden Hazard: Maurizio Sarri says £100m is ‘too cheap’ for Chelsea star as Real Madrid target Belgian

Maurizio Sarri believes Eden Hazard is worth significantly more than the £100m at which Real Madrid are understood to have valued Chelsea’s best player.

Hazard was in dazzling form on Monday night as his two goals – including one brilliant solo dribble and finish through the heart of the West Ham defence – sealed three points to send Chelsea third in the Premier League.

Asked after the match what he thought of the £100m price tag, Sarri smiled and said: “It’s too cheap in this market, it’s too cheap.”

Sarri could not put a figure on Hazard but said Belgian was irreplaceable. “I don’t know, I have no idea, but we have seen in the last market every [possible] price. I think it’s really very hard to change Hazard with another player.

“I cannot do anything. The club agrees with me. If he wants to make another experience, it’s very difficult to keep him, I think. We are trying to improve, we are trying to become one of the best teams in Europe, but I think that I have to respect his decision.”
