EastEnders viewers spot Brookside legend Barry Grant as Paul Usher makes square debut and threatens Phil Mitchell


EASTENDERS viewers spotted Brookside legend Barry Grant as he made his debut on the soap this evening.

Actor Paul Usher, who is best known for his role as Barry in Brookie, has arrived on the square as hardman Danny Hardcastle, who has a score to settle with Phil Mitchell.

In tonight’s episode he squared up to the mechanic and  warns him to get the money he’s owed.

Those watching at home were delighted to see him on screen and took Twitter to talk about it.

One person wrote: “Been waiting for tonight’s #EastEnders so happy Barry grant has made it to the square fantastic to watch him after a long time well done@bbceastenders.”

While a second commented: “#EastEnders it’s barry from brookside where’s Sinbad.”

EastEnders veteran Phil, played by Steve McFadden, has found himself in serious trouble lately.

He’s been back and forth to Spain on questionable business.

He even sent Keanu out to Spain on a dangerous mission where he almost lost his life in the process.

Viewers watched as in a shock twist Danny arrives at the The Arches to see Phil tonight.

After thanking Keanu for everything he did in Spain, he then turns on Phil. He reminds him of the money he owes and doesn’t mince his words.

Paul played Barry on an off from 1982 until the Brookside Close closed for good in 2003.

He also starred as Des Taviner in former drama The Bill.
