EastEnders’ Mick Carter will die in boat disaster after soap sells his costume, fans fear

EASTENDERS fans are terrified Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter will meet a watery end in the River Thames after it was revealed the soap have sold the character’s clothes.

The show’s story editor Tom Courtney told fans on Twitter last night that he had bought the Queen Vic landlord’s velvet jacket in one of the costume sales held on the BBC drama.

The jacket appears to be the one Mick is seen wearing in preview pictures released ahead of the anniversary week when the disaster will take place.

Replying to a story about Linda’s drunk behaviour on the boat trip, Tom wrote: “I got Danny’s green velvet jacket in the costume sale #justsaying.”

Fan site Walford Web replied: “If they’re selling off Mick’s costume, could this mean he’s the one to die in anniversary week?”

EastEnders flog old costumes when outfits are no longer needed, usually to members of staff on the show, the plot guru explained.

Some fans are convinced Danny Dyer’s character is in trouble, with one writing: “I think Linda is gonna push Mick off the boat after an argument after she sees him getting close with Whit.”

Another wrote: “I keep saying it’s oddly suspicious that Danny did all those interviews about the anniversary & flat out said he’s not being killed while other cast members all said they could be killed. I think it could be him – it would be shocking.”

The Sun revealed last month that a Walford favourite was going to die on the boat trip that Mick and wife Linda won in the Pub of the Year competition.

One major character is set to seal their tragic fate by toppling overboard when they invite half of the Square to join in the celebrations.

A source on the BBC soap told The Sun: “Where better place for a major death than on the Thames itself, which is so central to the show?

“Trouble has been brewing in Walford for a while, and they decided it was the perfect occasion to see off a big name.”

New details have been released about the disaster, showing Linda drinking heavily and embarrassing herself before the boat trip begins.

The alcoholic – who is played by actress Kellie Bright – will rage at Mick as the ship sets sail.
