EASTENDERS fans have launched a campaign to block Suki and the Panesars from running the Queen Vic as Mick Carter steps down.
The Sun Online revealed yesterday that Walford’s current landlord will hand over the reins as he ditches the pub following wife Linda’s alcohol battle.
Now viewers fear that new power-family the Panesars could take over in their bid to monopolise Albert Square.
However, the brothers’ mum, Suki, has become a hate figure on the BBC One soap after she lied about having cancer in a bid to manipulate her children – and fans want the entire clan to stay well away.
Writing on a soap forum, one asked: “What do you think of the idea of Suki and the Panesars being the new owners of the Queen Vic?
“I think it would be brilliant to have Suki Panesar as the Landlady of the Queen Vic.
“And her children working with her behind the bar. Also they would be the first Asian family to be owners of the pub.”
But the suggestion immediately received overwhelming backlash, with one critic replying: “Seriously, worst idea ever.
“She would be dreadful behind the bar of the Vic.”
Another added: “Keep that sicko well away, she’d probably try to poison the punters or something.”
A third agreed: “God no, would be beyond awful.”
One passionate fan simply shared a gif that read: “I forbid it.”
Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, has been pulling pints behind the bar since he joined the soap back in 2013.
But a soap insider told us that the Carters will be moving elsewhere on the square for Linda’s sake.
They explained: “With Linda struggling to quit booze it makes sense Mick moves the family out the pub.
“His decision will spark a bidding war between some of the residents who fancy taking on the biggest job in Walford.
“Viewers will be sad to see Danny no longer behind the bar, but that doesn’t mean he won’t return at some point in the future.”
The Queen Vic landlord is considered one of the most sought-after parts in soapland.
Former landlords have included Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor), Alfie and Kat Moon (Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace), Frank and Pat Butcher (Mike Reid and Pam St Clement) and Den and Angie Watts (Leslie Grantham and Anita Dobson).
