EastEnders’ Diane Parish announces engagement to boyfriend in self isolation


EastEnders actress Diane Parish ‘s self isolation just got a million times better after she revealed exciting news of her engagement to boyfriend Gerry Zucarello.

The soap star, who played Denise Fox for 12 whopping years, has been dating father-of three Gerry, 52, for three years before he decided to pop the question.

Diane is a mum to Kaya, 12, and Kenya, 14 from a previous relationship.

The actress is hoping to tie the knot as soon as possible with Gerry, who has been married twice, according to Sun Online.

A source told the publication: “Diane and Gerry met through pals and have been quietly dating for three years.”

Diane played Denise Fox in EastEnders for 12 years

They added: “Gerry said he and Diane were engaged after they had been spending time at home during the lockdown.

“Diane was close to marrying her ex, so has been wary about this engagement — but is loved up and on top of the world.”

And with the nation being placed on a temporary lockdown, Diane will have a lot of time on her hands to plan the wedding of her dreams.

The pair have been together for three years

It comes as the hit soap was plunged into crisis as production halts filming new episodes in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesperson that the amount of episodes broadcast each week will be reduced from four to two in order to keep audiences enjoying the BBC soap for as long as possible.

Episodes will now air on Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7:30pm only with immediate effect.

The statement read: “In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on EastEnders will be postponed until further notice. The decision was made after the latest government update.”

“We have also taken the decision to reduce the amount of episodes we broadcast each week to two, so that we can ensure the audience can continue to enjoy EastEnders in their homes for as long as possible.”
