EastEnders' Dean Gaffney 'signs up' for Celebs Go Dating after soap axe


Former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney is reportedly in talks to appear on Celebs Go Dating.

Dean, 41, shot to fame as Robbie Jackson in the BBC One soap but was sensationally axed earlier this year after his contract was terminated after he allegedly “begged a stranger for sexy pictures”.

According to The Sun, bosses for the E4 dating show have offered the actor a big money to sign on the dotted line.

A source told the publication: “Dean has been in the limelight as Robbie for decades, but now he wants to show everybody the real him.

“He’s nervous about it but Celebs Go Dating would also give him the opportunity to find true love and someone who really cares about him after leaving EastEnders again earlier this year.”

The soap star’s daughters have allegedly given their dad the green light and have told him to go for it.

Dean was a youngster when he landed the role of Robbie in 1993 and he’s since become a household name.

The father-of-two is now hoping to finding happiness again but finding love on the dating show.

The source added: “Dean is hoping that with some guidance from the love gurus he will be able to find someone very special.”

It has also been reported that This Morning favourite Alison Hammond has been linked to the forthcoming series of Celebs Go Dating.

The presenter and Big Brother star split from ex-boyfriend Jamie Savage two years ago.

Spice Girl Mel B and Love Island babe Amy Hart are also tipped to join the celebrity dating agency alongside Hollyoaks hunk Malique Thompson-Dwyer.

Robbie was last seen in Albert Square earlier this year

Celebs Go Dating sees celebrities go on dates with members of the public.

Dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson offer words of wisdom to their famous clients in a bid to find them love.

Dean is no stranger to joining reality shows following his stint on I’m A Celeb in 2006.

A start date for the eighth series of the reality show is yet to be announced.
