Dracula BBC 2020 cast: Who in the cast of Dracula?


Dracula begins tonight (January 1) on BBC with a unique new take on Bram Stoker’s classic horror tale. As a co-production with Netflix, the three-part show will air on consecutive nights on the channel before landing on the streaming platform for the rest of the world to binge.

Who in the cast of Dracula?

Dracula – Claes Bang

Danish actor and musician Claes Bang takes on the iconic vampire himself.

Speaking about playing Count Dracula to The Guardian, Bang revealed more about this iteration of the character.

He said: “He’s imposing but he also has this twinkle, and he can set pulses racing in both sexes.

“It’s real charm: it feels dangerous and therefore terribly attractive, which is what you want from a sexy Dracula.”

Outside of the series, the 52-year-old is known for appearing as Sasha Mann in the final series of The Affair.

Mother Superior – Joanna Scanlan

The Thick of It actor Joanna Scanlan plays Mother Superior in the new series.

The British actor has also appeared in No Offence and Getting On, which she co-wrote.

Frank – Mark Gatiss

As well as co-creating the series, Mark Gatiss stars in the show as Frank.

Gatiss also worked on Sherlock with his Dracula co-creator Steven Moffat where he played Mycroft Holmes.
