Do This!: Video games, improv comedy, puppets and Diana Ross – The Ledger


The Jacksonville Symphony visits the arcade, the Navy Band comes to St. Augustine, Diana Ross returns and an improv show and the world’s most famous ventriloquist play shows at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

FRIDAY, FEB. 28

Beep! Boop! The Jacksonville Symphony performs “Video Games Live,” featuring music from the entire history of the video game industry, synchronized to clips from the games. There’s also an interactive segment, where audience members come onstage and play the games. 8 p.m. at the Times-Union Center. $19-$65.

SUNDAY, MARCH 1

Anchors Aweigh! The United States Navy Band gives a free concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The Navy’s Sea Chanters chorus and the Cruisers pop music ensemble are also scheduled to perform. 3 p.m. Free parking.

TUESDAY, MARCH 3

Wild ‘N Out, based on the popular sketch comedy and improv TV show, brings a live show to VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Cast members scheduled to appear include DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller, Emmanuel Hudson, Justina Valentine, Hitman Holla and Pretty Vee. 8:30 p.m. $26.76-$126.76.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4

Diana Ross has had 18 No. 1 songs in a career that stretches back more than 60 years, so odds are good she’s going to play something you know when she takes the stage at the Times-Union Center. Showtime is 8 p.m. $38.76-$270.

THURSDAY, MARCH 5

A grumpy old man, a redneck, a dead terrorist and a jalapeno on a stick have sold several thousand seats for a show at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Oh, and comedian Jeff Dunham will be there, too. Showtime for the Seriously!? Tour show is 7 p.m. $48.50.
