Best Black Friday Prebuilt Gaming Desktop Deal

nebula

The absolute best Black Friday gaming desktop we’ve found so far comes from CCL Computers. Their NebulaX gaming desktop boasts a surprisingly strong spec for 893, including the recently released AMD Ryzen 3600X six-core twelve-thread processor and a Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics card. This is backed with 16GB of 3200MHz RAM, a super-fast 256GB NVMe SSD and a slower but very capacious 2TB HDD. We added up the parts and they came to over 1000 pounds, making this a stonking deal. This level of power means that you should be able to play even the latest games at 1080p and ultra settings, and it will even work well for upcoming releases like Half-Life Alyx and Cyberpunk 2077. The PC also comes with Xbox Game Pass for PC for three months and either Borderlands 3 or The Outer Worlds, so you’ll have plenty of games to play on your new computer!

Discounted AMD and Nvidia graphics cards

Some of the best deals we’ve seen thus far have been on graphics cards. There are some great options here, especially at the low end of the market, making it a great time to upgrade your PC or start a new build. LG B9 OLED

b9

Our pick for the best 4K TV for HDR gaming has been reduced to 1099 for the 55-inch model and 1789 for the 65-inch version.

These are massive reductions on critically acclaimed 4K TVs – the 65-inch model is now as cheap as the 55-inch model was just a few months ago – and getting them with a five year guarantee from John Lewis is a great bonus. You can also find the 55-inch LG B9 OLED on Amazon for the same price if you prefer, but the 65-inch deal isn’t available on Amazon.

LG’s OLEDs are loved by gamers and film enthusiasts alike, thanks to their extremely deep blacks, excellent contrast and rapid pixel response times. The B9 is the most affordable model in the lineup, with the C9 and E9 costing a few hundred pounds more. The B9 uses the same OLED panel as the C9 and E9 so image quality remains impeccable, while a slightly older processor keeps the price low. This results in only minor differences in motion handling and a few missing features, so most experts recommend the B9 as the best value-for-money choice.

$750 off the Alienware m15 gaming laptop

2019_07_15_product

Dell’s top-spec Alienware m15 gaming laptop has been discounted by $750, with an incredibly high-end spec now retailing for just $1399. The specifications here are excellent across the board: a ninth-generation Core i7 CPU, overclockable RTX 2060 graphics card, 240Hz IPS display, 32GB of RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD. The design of the machine is beautiful too, as sister site Rock Paper Shotgun discovered in their recent review. Overall, it’s an incredible deal, brining a bleeding-edge gaming laptop into the range of affordability.

The legendary Bose QuietComfort II noise-cancelling headphones for $200

bose_quietcomfort

We’ll keep this one short and sweet: Right now, on Rakuten, you can use code THANKS20 to get the legendary Bose QuietComfort 35 II for $200 plus tax. That’s considerably less than the $280 you’ll pay in Amazon’s Black Friday sale, and far below the $350 these headphones were retailing for just a few weeks ago. If you’ve been waiting for an incredible deal on premium wireless headphones, this is it chief.

Best ultra-wide gaming monitor Black Friday deal

AW3418DW

Here’s the best ultra-wide gaming monitor deal we’ve spotted: $579 for the 34-inch Dell Alienware AW3418DW on Rakuten. That’s a 3440×1440 IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate and full-fat G-Sync, making it a great choice for a wide range of games as well as productivity work. The same model is on sale for $650 on Newegg and $950 on Dell’s own site, so pick up this excellent deal while you can!

Best-ever prices on 3rd-gen Ryzen processors

processors

It’s the best time in a long time to buy an AMD CPU, thanks to industry-wide price drops on third-gen Ryzen processors. If you’ve been waiting to upgrade your PC, this Black Friday could be the time. Look out for the Ryzen 3800X at $330, which includes both The Outer Worlds and Borderlands 3 in an AMD promotion, but expect excellent prices across the range.

When is Black Friday 2019

Black Friday 2019 itself starts on November 29th, 2019, but expect Black Friday deals to run for at least a week beforehand – we’d recommend checking back here on November 15th for the very first batches of deals. However, the vast majority of deals will begin on what is now called Black Friday week, which begins on Monday, November 25th and new deals will continue to appear until Friday the 29th. It’ll be a little quieter over the weekend, and then there’s also Cyber Monday to remember, which this year will take place on December 2nd.

How to prepare for Black Friday 2019

The most important thing to prepare for Black Friday is to write down what product or type of product you’re interested in – e.g. “a recent LG OLED” or “an RTX 2080 graphics card” – along with how much you’re prepared to pay for the device. You may find it helpful to look at the current prices in the shops or in online retailers like Amazon. When Black Friday rolls around, if the product goes under the price you’re prepared to pay, buy it straight away.

Normally, we see the best deals during Black Friday week itself, with a few hot ticket items (like OLED TVs or Nintendo Switch Lites) going on sale, selling out and then appearing again. Most importantly, it’s rare to see prices continue to fall after a big sale, so if a retailer you trust has discounted the item you’re interested in, it’s better to get it for that guaranteed low price than hold out for an even lower price and potentially miss out on the sale opportunity.

How Digital Foundry will cover Black Friday 2019

We’ll cover both the best UK Black Friday deals and the best US Black Friday deals, and once we get further into it we’ll also break down our deals into categories to make it easy to find what you’re looking for. Specifically, expect a page for 4K TV deals, monitor deals, graphics card deals, other PC component deals and a whole bunch of PC peripheral deals. Phew!

That’s all for now. Stay tuned for Black Friday 2019, and we’ll see you on the big day itself!
