Die Hard on ICE trailer: John McClane parody of Christmas movie is HILARIOUS – WATCH

It’s been over 30 years since Die Hard (which obviously is a Christmas movie) hit cinemas. And now a new parody sees the action classic performed on ice.

The unauthorised parody Die Hard…ON ICE comes from NOW TV, who brought us that brilliant Jurassic Park Jeff Goldblum statue last year.

It’s only a minute long, but boy do we wish this version of Die Hard was real.

Hollywood stunt artist Tom Boney (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Dunkirk) stars as Bruce Willis’ John McClane.

While four-time British silver medallist figure skater Thomas Paulson takes on Alan Rickman’s villainous Hans Gruber.

The trailer features take-offs of some of Die Hard’s most famous scenes from Yippee-Ki-Yay to McClane’s slithering through an air vent.

NOW TV Managing Director Marina Storti said: “Die Hard is arguably the greatest action movie of all time – an iconic and festive blend of action, intelligence, drama and comedy.

“And we’re sure our ‘on ice’ recreation will be loved by Die Hard enthusiasts and NOW TV fans alike.”

The parody is promoting Die Hard being featured on the streaming service this December and a new Sky Cinema Pass deal.

While 50% voted No in that one, even asking specifically about Die Hard in a follow-up poll wasn’t enough to see the film officially stamped as a Christmas movie.

Nevertheless, we still think it absolutely is in our seven reasons the Yippee-Ki-Yay classic is the most festive.

To sum up, Die Hard has a Christmas setting, Christmas music, Christmas references, Christmas movie themes, a Christmas movie villain, a Christmas message and a Christmas snow scene at the end.

Surely that’s enough to convince the sceptics?

Meanwhile, Willis was set to return for Die Hard 6 aka Die Hard: Year One, a film with flashback scenes set before the first movie.

However, following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the film has been cancelled, according to We Got This Covered.

Nevertheless, the franchise is set to be rebooted with a streaming TV series called McClane, although Disney are yet to confirm this.

Die Hard is streaming on NOW TV this December.
